How to Use & Interpret Results ▾

How to use

  1. Pick a card based on what you want to compare: Genes, Pathways, Ontologies, or Pfam domains associated with a set of diseases — or build your own Custom Venn from any lists you like.
  2. For Genes/Pathways/Ontologies/Pfam: type 2–6 disease names into the boxes provided. Autocomplete will suggest matches — each name must match a real disease in the database exactly, or it won't be accepted.
  3. For Custom: name each of up to 6 lists — typing a disease name auto-fills that list with its genes, or just paste your own items (one per line) straight into the box instead.
  4. Click Load Example first if you want to see how it works before using your own data.

What you get

  • An interactive Venn diagram — click any region to see exactly which items fall in that overlap.
  • Genes: sets are each disease's associated genes. Pathways: KEGG + Reactome pathways linked to those genes. Ontologies: GO Biological Process/Molecular Function terms. Pfam: protein domain/family descriptions.
  • Custom: sets are whatever you typed or pulled in — not limited to genes.
  • Download the clicked region's list, the full intersection table for every region at once, or the diagram itself as an image — all from the buttons above the diagram.
  • With 3+ sets active, a Common Across Most Sets table appears below the diagram — defaults to items common to more than half your sets, adjustable via a dropdown, or switch to "Pick specific sets instead" to see what's shared by an exact combination you choose. It has its own CSV/PDF download button, separate from the diagram and full-comparison downloads.
